  • Bachelor's Degree in Political Science, History, English, Business or related field
  • Comprehensive knowledge of State and Federal campaign finance law required
  • Comprehensive knowledge of regulations related to operations of Political Action Committees required
  • 3-5 years' experience in Government Affairs, Political Grassroots, and/or Credit Union advocacy preferred
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and group communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize assignments and meet deadlines
  • Strong computer skills with strong work experience in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work both independently with self-motivation and a positive attitude and as a team play
  • Credit Union or other financial institution background strongly preferred



  • Develop and coordinate fundraising programs to assist credit unions with reaching their annual PAC fundraising goals.
  • Solicit corporate contributions and organize fundraisers to support A Stronger Financial Michigan "ASFM", a 501(c)(6) under IRS Code.
  • Oversee administration and accounting functions for MCULLAF (Federal PAC), MCULAF (State PAC) including compliance with state and federal campaign finance laws.
  • Coordinate PAC check requests, working closely with MCUL accounting staff and the VP Government Affairs to ensure compliance with state and federal campaign finance laws.
  • Provide operational and technical support to credit unions in the area of PAC fundraising.
  • Serve as staff liaison to MCULLAF/MCULAF and ASFM Board of Trustees.
  • Responsible for coordinating donor recognition programs.
  • Assist in developing annual MCULLAF/MCULAF and ASFM budgets.
  • Responsible for designing and implementing political involvement programs for credit unions including Get Out The Vote (GOTV) campaigns, Political Contacts, and CUNA GAPS.
  • Coordinate bi-annual MCUL candidate survey and communications for candidate endorsements.
  • Cultivate relationships with Republican and Democratic campaign committee representatives.
  • Make presentations at individual credit union and chapter events on PAC and grassroots programs.
  • Assist in coordinating a variety of grassroots legislative lobbying activities.
  • Attend fundraisers for lawmakers and MCUL endorsed candidates.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
